Collection Instructions There are several reports of diurnal variation of erythropoietin in the literature. It is useful to recommend that samples be collected at a consistent time of day. Morning samples taken between 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon have been recommended.
Handling Instructions All specimen types must be centrifuged within 2 hours of collection. If no gel separation present in tube and testing is delayed, plasma/serum is aliquoted from cells within 2 hours of collection
Keep tubes stoppered at all times.
