Collection InstructionsKeep refrigerated during collection. Record entire 24 Hr
Vol on container & requisition. Patient should refrain from taking excessive amounts of Ascrobic acid, Vitamin C supplements, Vitamin C or Oxalate rich foods (ie: spinach, coffee, tea, chocolate, rhubarb) for at least 48 hours prior to and during the collection. If possible and available, then add 25 mL of 6N HCl prior to collection. If unable to add preservative, then urine MUST be kept refrigerated during collection.
Handling InstructionsSpecimen volume required. If preservative (6N HCl) not added prior to collection, then ADJUST and maintain a pH below 3. Adjust pH within 24 hours of collection.
