Collection InstructionsCare must be taken to avoid contamination by air
Immediately remove all air bubbles from syringe after drawing the sample. (Remove needle and place a luer tip cap on end of syringe, if using a heparinized syringe)
Place body fluid specimen on ICE and deliver to the lab
ASAP, pH may change with storage. (Pleural fluid should be tested within 1 hour of collection).
