Collection Instructions Collect CSF in 3-4 sterile, labeled, capped tubes that are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the fill order. Tube 2 should be submitted and should contain enough spinal fluid for all tests requested and be free from peripheral blood.
Handling Instructions Do not store specimen. Transport to testing lab immediately.

Rejection Criteria Clotted, Insufficient quantity, Refrigerated, Frozen,
Centrifuged specimen, Incorrect specimen tube order received, Specimen heavily contaminated with peripheral blood.
