Collection Instructions OVERNIGHT FASTING IS PREFERRED
Patient should be relaxed in either a supine or upright position before blood is drawn. Record if patient is upright or supine. Patient should avoid alcohol, caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks, etc.), nicotine (tobacco), and strenuous exercise prior to specimen collection. Place specimen immediately in wet ice after collection.
