Transport Requirements Preferred method of transport is frozen plasma.

Results of this assay may be altered in the presence of a lupus anticoagulant, direct thrombin inhibitor and Xa inhibitor drugs, and high levels of heparin (>1 U/mL). Genetic testing for the factor V Leiden mutation, rather than the APC-R screening assay, is recommended for patients with these conditions
