Collection Instructions Collect Monday - Wednesday only

Indicate date, time of collection and specimen type directly on tube

Diagnosis is required on requisition

For collections in Saipan:
Only on Mondays from 1:00pm - 3:00pm

For collections in Guam:
DLS Guam collections must be coordinated on Tuesdays at ITC (Main lab) from 9:00am - 10:30am.
Handling Instructions Preferred: Specimens should be shipped to reference lab the day of collection.

Do not reject. Send specimen to testing lab for viability determination.
Rejection Criteria Clotted, Frozen, Hemolyzed, fixed specimen, non-neoplastic cells, Lithium Heparin or EDTA specimen

Methodology Short-term cell culture; synchronization; chromosome harvest; G-banding; analysis (20 metaphases) and karyotyping; long-term B-mitogen cultures in some B-cell leukemias
